What was the highlight of Selina Chapinero Bogota

Just ok

The value - nothing special about the room or accommodations, but it was inexpensive. Bogota is very spread out so this hostel was in the middle of getting to the nicer, more residential neighborhoods and La Candelaria.

First and foremost, this isn't a hotel - it's a hostel. The rooms are super hot; the windows don't really open. When I asked for an extra towel to wet to help stay cool, they told me they would have to charge me. The hostel is on a very busy street so it's very loud and noisy.

Great spot to stay in Chapinero

Reception allowed us to check-in early and kindly gave us an upgrade. Very simple and has a nice little shop.

Although the decoration and interior was very cool it was lacking a vibe.

The bed was old and was making a lot of noise every time I try to look for a comfortable position to sleep, the whole night I was waking up due to the noise of the bed when I moved a little bit????. There was a sofa on the room that was dirty, I think if they fix the bed the property would improve a lot

The staff were incredible! So helpful and accommodating in helping us figure out how to use the bus system. We arrived very early in the morning and couldn’t check in, so they let us use the common area to chill and then stored our bags for us.

The room we got was less well-kept than in the photos. Clean, just a bit run down. The rooms also aren’t soundproof at all so we could hear the activities happening and people playing music late into the night.

Cheap accommodation for a few nights in the city. Next to 76th bus stop (Transmilenio) and near tonsil chaperino

Chapinero is a great neighbourhood- a few blocks and you are right there. Price for dorm bed is ok

Not clean, staff not involved, lots of other guests (locals, long term stay, co-working) reception has NO information about nothing (ie local public transport, getting around in Columbia), no real backpackers‘ vibes

The room was really clean and the beds were comfortable. The whole vibe of the hostel was really nice and it was in a really great location, near loads of restaurants and cafes

Super friendly staff. They show genuine joy in their work. Huge rooms that almost feel like a studio. Very good breakfast options.

No bedside table lights, so it’s basically floodlights or completely dark.

Great staff, food and drinks but consider the location.

The property is great, welcoming, well set up and well managed by the staff. The rooms are clean with nice bathrooms and quiet at night.

The location was not the safest for a solo female traveller. Staying at La Candelaria would mean less need for taxis / walking in unsafe areas. It’s also very close to Caracas which is not a safe road for foreigners to walk along.

great hostel but not if you want to sleep!

great communal areas, lovely helpful staff, comfortable bed, clean room. nice decoration.

the noise! live band playing until 1pm (which I think is acceptable on a weekend), but not the loud music and people shouting until 3.30am that followed it. I was on the top floor (7 floors away from the noise) and couldn’t sleep. you need better soundproofing!

Coworking not included

This place is amazing. Decor is on point, amenities are good, space distribution is really nice. Loved their breakfast menu. There are so many options and the staff is happy to accommodate. Everyone was very helpful and friendly during my stay. Bring earplugs. The city may get noisy at night. Coworking space not included for hostel guests.

The reason I chose to stay at Selina was their coworking space. I am not opposed to having to pay to access a space with premium internet and good amenities. What I have an issue with is having to pay the same price, when you are a guest of Selina. There are no incentives to stay at Selina solely based on coworking access. I could stay somewhere else and, if I chose to, work from Selina, which defeats the entire experience
